TUESDAY LADIES HANDBOOK - 2026
General Information
Arbutus Ridge Ladies Golf League
Tuesday Ladies is a group within the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club that is run by an elected executive to promote social fun and friendly competition. We also participate within BCGA and Zone 5 on Vancouver Island.
We play according to the Rules of Golf and with established handicaps. Handicaps allow golfers of different abilities to play together on an equitable basis. The maximum handicap index is 54.0 but limits may be set lower for competitions.
Information for all Tuesday Ladies Events will be posted on the Website at: www.arlgclub.org.
Break Pins
Any player breaking 100, 90, or 80 in any golf game at Arbutus Ridge or making an Eagle or Birdie for the first time, is eligible for a pin. A dated, signed and attested scorecard is to be submitted to the Ladies Captain.
Hole In One
If you make a Hole in One at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, hand your dated, signed, and attested scorecard to the
administration office. ARGC will award a $50 voucher, along with a ‘Hole in One’ golf tag courtesy of your Members Advisory Council (MAC). You also receive a Hole in One Pin from BCGA, regardless of which course you got it on, by submitting a dated, signed, and attested scorecard to the Ladies Captain.
Tuesday Play Information
Online signup is available two weeks in advance. The deadline for signup is 2:00 pm Friday. If you need to cancel, contact the Draw Chair. Handicaps will be frozen on the day the Draw is completed. The Draw will beemailed to you.
Individual Games - the draw will sometimes be from low to high handicap, i.e. Putting Rounds for the Captain's Trophy
Team Games - the draw is made by mixing handicaps or equalizing the sum of 4 handicaps.
Game Day - On game day, check in at the Pro Shop 10 minutes before your tee time and pick up your scorecard.
Check the Fixture List, posted on the website, for the Game of the Day.
ALL games:
After all games, on the same day, enter your score into Golf Canada, recording hole by hole gross scores. Hole by hole entry is required for a true handicap and for the Ultimate Scorecard award.
Game Winnings
Points are awarded for each game and accumulated over the season.
Putting Out
Question: Do we need to putt out for every hole? Yes, and no.
Gimmies are allowed when putting out is not required.

Interclub Matches – 4 Ball Match Play
Friendly team Match Play between Arbutus Ridge Ladies and other Ladies Golf Clubs. Eight players from each club play a HOME and an AWAY game. Sign up online on the Ladies website. Availability to play both the HOME and AWAY games is
preferred.

Putting Competition – Captain’s Trophy
The least number of putts in 2 out of the 3 designated rounds receives the Captain's Trophy.
Important: putts are counted using the PGA method: Once a player is ON the green, ALL strokes taken are counted until the player HOLES OUT.
Example: Jane's ball comes to rest on the green in 3 strokes. Her 1st putt rolls off the green; she chips back on for her 5th stroke (2nd putt); and takes 2 more strokes (4 putts) to hole out (7 strokes total). The total number of putts is 4.
Birdies and Chip-ins
Prizes are awarded for the most birdies and chip-ins over the season (Tuesday Play only). Complete a chit in the Ladies Locker Room after the round. Once reported, they are posted on the board in the Ladies Locker Room.
Ultimate Scorecard
Your Golf Canada’s “Ultimate” scorecard (based on ALL rounds played) is automatically calculated from all rounds entered Hole by Hole. Prizes are ARLGC awards prizes for the lowest Gross score winner by handicap categories, at the Closing Awards Banquet.
Golden Plate Trophy
Awarded to the player with the greatest percentage handicap reduction over the Ladies Club season. To be eligible, you must have played at least 40% of Ladies Day Events.
Tuesday Ladies Tournaments
Eclectic
A 2-day tournament played for the Crystal Bowl Trophy. Final score is calculated by taking the lowest score over two days for each hole, to get a gross 18- hole score, from which your handicap is deducted.
Diamond Stableford
A one day team (4 per team) tournament played for the Thunderbird Trophy. The 2 best Stableford scores on each hole are used to determine the winning team. The team with the highest Stableford points wins.
ARLGC Tournament
A 2-day stroke play tournament played for the Whale Trophy (Gross), the Dogwood Cup (Net), and the Golden Girl Trophy (Net 70 years +). This is the Tuesday Ladies Championship.
Match Play
A ladder competition where two league members team up to play other league teams for the Eagle Trophy.

- A scorecard is provided by the Draw Committee.
- Keep a second scorecard for yourself so you can enter your score into Golf Canada.
- Exchange scorecards with another player.
- After the game, submit the signed and attested scorecard in the the locker room wooden box

- Groups of 4 players will be the norm.
- Only two riding carts are allowed per group.
- The team captain (first name on the list) will pick up the scorecard from the Pro Shop, and will keep score for the team.
- The team captain keeps two scorecards – their own and one for the team.
- All other players will keep their own scorecard (to enter into Golf Canada).
- After the game, the captain submits the signed and attested team scorecard in the locker room wooden box.

- Individual and team winners typically receive 3 points for 1st , 2 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd . Points may vary for some games.
- Payouts are made at the Closing Awards Event.
- Tournament winners will receive trophies and prizes at the lunch following the tournament.
Putting Out
Question: Do we need to putt out for every hole? Yes, and no.
- There are rounds where putting out is required:
- Putting Rounds (Captain's Trophy).
- ARLGC Tournament.
- Any game the Draw designates to putt out
- The Draw will advise when putting out is NOT required.
- To help Pace of Play, pick up if you have reached your MAXIMUM score per Golf Canada guidelines (par +2 + handicap strokes). Mark an “X” next to your score for that hole (i.e. 9x, 8x).
Gimmies are allowed when putting out is not required.
- A gimmie is allowed when the distance between the hole and your ball is not more than the length of the grip on a putter (about 12"). Note: NOT the length from the putter head to the grip!
Optional Toonie Pot - $2
- Participation is voluntary.
- The toonie pot is a side game in addition to the Game of the Day. The pot is divided among the entered skill prize winners.
- To participate, sign up in the Pro Shop when you check in, and deposit your $2 in the Toonie can.
- Winners will be announced by the Draw Committee. Payouts are picked up in the Pro Shop.
